Ology Coaching Licensee Success Story
Steve Lane - Birmingham
The following Q&A gives you an insight not only into the
success that Steve has enjoyed, but the lifestyle benefits he has
enjoyed with his family.
Steve, tell us a little about yourself and where you're
from?
I am based in Brmingham and have been an Ology Coach for just over
5 years. Prior joining Ology I had run my own consultancy business
for a few year after being in corporate life for nearly 25 years,
reaching senior levels in Sales, Marketing, Training and Process
Improvement.
How did you hear about Ology?
Ology was relatively new when I joined over 5 years ago. I was
actually in the latter stages of my research with another business
coaching franchise - and they mentioned Ology! I did some hunting
and found the Ology website… and I'm so glad I did!
What was the one main thing that made you decide to join
Ology?
There was no single thing. I was hugely impressed with the
business model, ethical approach, support process and toolkit
offered by Ology. I have not been disappointed. We all try and make
very logical decisions when looking at business opportunities, but
there is also the emotional element too - and "does it feel right?"
Ology certainly 'felt' right for me. In my business dealings since
joining Ology I have encountered a number of people who have taken
franchises with other organisations - from printing businesses to
promotional goods and website design as well as other Franchise
business coaching franchises. Almost without fail, their major
issues with their franchisor are lack of ongoing support and
unreasonable levels of ongoing cost. The same cannot be said of
Ology
How would you rate the quality of the
training?
The initial training was incredible! Not only informative and
comprehensive, but providing a huge step forward in my own personal
development. I was so motivated and well-equipped following the
initial training that I managed to secure my first client within
just six days!
What would you say about the quality of the coaching
programmes?
The Ology directors have demonstrated their determination to
maintain a 'leading edge' proposition with the introduction of new
and innovative business coaching programmes. The range of coaching
tools and business resources available to us is continually
growing. Overall the programmes are excellent - and my clients
agree!
How would you describe the support you receive from
Ology?
As a practicing coach now for over 5 years, and as my business has
evolved, I have been supported at every stage by Ology. The base
level support is great value for money and is more than adequate to
cover the day-to-day things. But it's also nice to know that the
additional support is there when you need it.
How have you and your family found the lifestyle of
working for yourself?
When I first set up my own business it was a challenge to adapt to
being self-employed. It takes self-discipline and motivation to
succeed. But now I would never consider becoming employed again - I
enjoy the freedom and control too much!
Even though you are working for yourself, how does being
part of Ology make your life easier?
After being self employed for a few years before joining Ology I
know what it's like to be 'on your own.' Being part of the Ology
network makes it a far less lonely place and you feel part of the
'team.'
What personal targets have you hit since you joined
Ology?
I am on track to achieve my original goals in terms of lifestyle
and income.
What recommendations can you give to somebody who can't
decide between joining an organisation like Ology or setting up a
coaching business themselves?
Unless you have a 'ready to roll' business with a pipeline of
clients ready to buy your services, I would always take this
option. It's a proven business model that has evolved from
literally years of making mistakes! You get everything you need to
set up and run the business you want without all the pitfalls!
There's the initial investment of course, but that is recovered
within the first six months - which means you're established and
'in profit' form there on in! Consider how long it would take to
start from scratch on your own - and how much it would cost in
'non-earning' time alone!
